Kenya's musical en devours and the many diverse forms of our vast diverse artistic talents have never been saved and nor have they ever been documented. Apparently we have a so called 'Ministry of sports , culture and the arts' . Fact - and I must excuse myself with respect to the sports portfolio for I have to tell that I am not a sports kind of guy ... yet none of the other cultural and arts representatives have ever inquired from my Melodica Music Stores or from other major representatives within our industry in order to assist along with and facilitate as to what we can present and assist the ministry with.
I mean like - where do these so called ministries exist and are their offices like on a newly discovered distant planet or what. It is about time that they entered some spaceship scuttle and came back down to Earth and back to Kenya in particular.
My quip -
Foremost - They should create a republican pride and awareness of our indigenous culture and the arts of which we are all proud of as Kenyans.
Secondly - They should be an all out revamp in and towards the assistance from all people concerned and commit totally to promote Kenya's musical and arts heritage.
Thirdly - They the ministry should pull out all the preconceived 'third world inferiority complex' and the preconceived lethargy and wake up to focus itself on what is indigenous and begin to boost up at the same time on what is our heritage.
We expect nothing less than what our appointed ministry has been assigned to, including a total commitment that is - to whole heartily performs it's duty to spotlight and assist all within our individual, commercial and industrial cultural and artistic efforts.
Surely it cannot be that hard to accomplish. We expect better from you and we are ready and willing to be part and parcel of Kenya.
